Apple Distinguished School Recognition for Northumberland Heath Primary
Northumberland Heath Primary School is proud to announce it has been recognised as an Apple Distinguished School for the 2025–2028 program term. The school has been recognised for innovation, leadership, and educational excellence using technology.
Schools apply and are selected for this distinction based on their commitment to continuous innovation in education and using Apple products to inspire, imagine, and impact teaching and learning.
Apple Distinguished Schools are centres of leadership and educational excellence, with a clear vision for how technology-rich environments support learning goals. In Apple Distinguished Schools, forward-thinking leaders and their communities work to inspire, imagine, and impact teaching and learning, and they have documented results of academic accomplishments.
Schools all over the world are using iPad and Mac to transform learning. As teachers incorporate technology into their lessons, they empower students to lead, learn, and thrive, to discover new opportunities, and to make their world a better place.
Headteacher Ms Indresano and the school team are delighted to share this exciting news with their school community, and are excited to continue on their journey to inspire and develop their young learners. Ms Indresano is delighted to have received this recognition, "We are incredibly proud to be recognised as an Apple Distinguished School. This achievement reflects our commitment to using technology creatively and purposefully, ensuring every child has the opportunity to learn, explore and achieve in ways that prepare them for the future. It is a testament to the dedication of our staff, the enthusiasm of our children, and the support of our community.”
Year 6 pupil Sai described the difference technology has made: “Using an iPad has transformed the way I learn, making studying more engaging and enjoyable. Educational games and creative apps opened up new ways for me to express my creativity and understand concepts more deeply. With the tools for filming and interactive activities, I have fun learning!”
Julie Carson, Director of Education for Woodland Academy Trust adds, “We are delighted that Northumberland Heath Primary has become the second school in our Trust to be recognised as an Apple Distinguished School. This achievement not only celebrates the school’s innovative use of technology to inspire learning but also reflects the strength of our shared vision across the Trust. To see two of our schools gain this recognition is a powerful endorsement of the creativity of our staff, the curiosity of our pupils, and our commitment to preparing every child for a future where they can thrive.”
