MP Visit to Peareswood Primary
Peareswood Primary School were delighted to welcome back local MP for Bexleyheath and Crayford Daniel Francis MP for a school visit today.
He visited Year 5 classrooms to see Peareswood’s flexible learning environments in action, hearing from Headteacher Carla Ferla and Deputy Headteacher for Inclusion Hayley Mourne about how their Universal Design for Learning (UDL) approach supports every child to learn in a way that works best for them.
Year 5 and 6 pupils also got to ask a wide range of thoughtful questions- from how voting works in Parliament to his journey to becoming an MP- inspiring pupils to imagine how they might become future Members of Parliament one day!
Pupils were particularly fascinated to learn about ‘bobbing’- the practice of MPs rising and sitting to catch the Speaker’s attention during debates. The children (and staff!) had great fun trying this out!
